Contingent Information


The Northwest Georgia Council is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for our 2013 National Jamboree




We have been allotted 36 youth positions/4 adult positions for the council Troop, and 8 youth positions/2 adult positions for the council Venturing Crew.  Adults will be selected from applicants. Allan Gilreath, Troop 22 Calhoun will be our Troop Scoutmaster and Patrick Bonito, Troop 23 Rockmart is one of the Assistant Scoutmasters. The other adults have not as yet been determined. Applications must first be made online at .  Completed applications should then be printed, signed by the Scoutmaster and submitted to our council office with initial payment. They will then be forwarded to our council committee for approval. You will need your membership ID number when applying online and you will need to submit a $150 payment to the Council before Mar. 31, 2012. Scouts must be 12 or older and First Class at time of Jamboree to be eligible. Venturers must be 14-21 years old at time of Jamboree.




The National Jamboree is scheduled for July 15-24, 2013. Our contingent will be travelling by bus and will go directly to the Jamboree site and straight back following the Jamboree.




Our contingent fee is $1300.00. First payment of $150 is due with application. Subsequent monthly payments of $115.00 will be due beginning April 15, 2012 and continuing through Jan. 15, 2012, with payments due on the 15th of each month. Fee includes Jamboree fee, travel, troop and patrol equipment, pre-Jamboree trainings, contingent fees, and a Contingent Uniform (Uniform shirt, pants, 2 JSP’s, cap, 2 t-shirts) as well as a personal gear tote.




As soon as possible. We already have several youth applications and remaining slots are limited. Adults wishing to be considered for contingent leadership should also apply ASAP.


Applicants will receive an information packet outlining contingent details with their confirmation of appointment from the Council.
