Friends of Scouting
An Investment in Youth and our Community
The Northwest Georgia Council Friends of Scouting campaign has a need of $500,000 in annual giving. Friends of Scouting provides the operating funds needed by the Northwest Georgia Council to provide the many services offered to support local unit programs, such as training, insurance, program materials, advancement materials, camping facilities and programs, council and district activities, and much more.
Family contributors who invest $275 or more in the 2020 Friends of Scouting Campaign will receive a special edition collector's patch. A premiere Scouting program requires a significant investment by the community. The Family Friends of Scouting program is extremely important to the success of our overall fundraising efforts because it shows the rest of the community how committed our members are to the Scouting program and serves as an example when asking for community support.
For more information, please contact your District Friends of Scouting Chair, District Executive, or call the Council Office at 706-235-5545. To make a 501c3 tax-deductible gift to local Scouting, make a online donation or mail to the Northwest Georgia Council, BSA, P.O. Box 1422, Rome, GA 30162.
Workplace/Matching Gifts - Increase Your Scouting Support!
Many corporations match gifts made by their employees to the BSA. Some companies even give financial contributions on behalf of the time you give as a volunteer. If you are unsure if your company makes matching gifts, check with your human resources department for more information. Please contact Margaret.Chappelle@scouting.org if you become aware of other local companies that provide matching gifts.
Stock transfers are an easy and convenient way to support Scouting. You can donate stock to the Northwest Georgia Council to support the Friends of Scouting Campaign, a gift to the Endowment Fund, to the Capital Campaign, or any other general contribution.
In order to make a stock transfer, email Margaret.Chappelle@scouting.org for specific transferring directions.
