Curious about Cub Scouts? Want to know more? Join in the Family Fun that is Cub Scouting! Build and race your very own Pinewood Derby car on May 15th at the Rome ECO Center at Ridge Ferry Park.

The Pinewood Derby Race is an exciting event where boys and girls, grades K-5, build and race a car that starts from a block of wood. Pinewood Derby cars are powered only by gravity so, in addition to the FUN of racing, Scouts learn about aerodynamics, friction, weight distribution, and other STEM aspects of designing a fast car.

All K-5 grade boys and girls

Cost $5
Includes a Pinewood Derby Car Kit, tools and assistance with building your car, access to three different race tracks, and all the racing you want.

What is Cub Scouting?

In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning, and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Cub Scouts is for boys and girls who are starting the fall school year in Kindergarten through 5th grade. In Cub Scouts, the whole family gets involved in fun and engaging activities that help young people build character, make ethical and moral decisions, and instills the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
